Breaking News: YouTuber Rajab Butt Assaulted by Lawyers at Karachi City Court; Bail Extended

KARACHI – High drama unfolded at the Karachi City Court today, December 29, 2025, as prominent YouTuber Rajab Butt and fellow social media star Nadeem Naniwala were physically assaulted by a group of lawyers during a scheduled court hearing.

Violence in the Courtroom

Rajab Butt appeared before the sessions court (Central) today following the expiry of his interim bail in a high-profile case involving allegations of "hurting religious sentiments." However, the legal proceedings quickly turned into a scene of chaos. Witnesses report that a group of lawyers surrounded the YouTuber, resulting in a physical altercation.

Videos circulating on social media show Rajab Butt with a torn shirt, visibly shaken as he was escorted through a chanting crowd. Reports indicate that Butt sustained injuries to his jaw and mouth during the assault. The lawyers involved claimed the attack was a response to "inappropriate language" Butt allegedly used against the legal community in a previous video.

Legal Updates: The "295 Perfume" Case

The case stems from the controversial launch of a perfume titled "295," which critics and religious groups, including the TLP, allege mocked Pakistan's blasphemy laws. While Butt has previously issued an apology stating the reference was a tribute to his late "mentor" Sidhu Moose Wala, he continues to face charges under Section 295-A and PECA laws.

Despite the violence, the court proceeded to extend Rajab Butt’s interim bail until January 13, 2026.

Mian Ali Ashfaq Condemns the Attack

Butt’s counsel, the renowned lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to strongly condemn the incident. He described the assault as "unprofessional" and a "misuse of power," warning that such vigilantism within court premises undermines the reputation of the legal fraternity and the rule of law in Pakistan.

As the situation develops, security concerns at the Karachi City Court have intensified, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the conduct of the lawyers involved.
