Five Pakistani Umrah pilgrims, including three ladies, lost their lives in a sad road accident in Saudi Arabia when their bus collapsed on the way back to Madina from a visit to the historic site of Badr.
Initial reports state that the majority of the pilgrims in the bus and the deceased were from the Bahawalnagar district. The fatalities were an old man named Manzoor Hussain from 39/3-R, two women from Dahran Wala, and Rukhsana and Amina Bibi from 228/9-R, Fort Abbas.
Numerous additional people were hurt in the crash and were sent to different Madina hospitals to receive treatment.
According to hospital sources, three injured people—two of whom are women—were being treated at the King Fahd Hospital, while four injured people—two of whom are women—were being treated at the Saudi-German Hospital.
King Salman Hospital is also treating a single woman. Additionally, according to authorities, two remains had been moved to the King Fahd and Saudi-German hospitals.
In an interview with Geo News, Pakistan's Consul General Khalid Majeed stated that the crew at the Pakistan Consulate was actively helping the injured and was in communication with the Umrah sponsoring organization.
According to the family of the victims, the pilgrims who died will be buried in Saudi Arabia.
