The deadline for mandatory vehicle emission testing in Punjab has been extended to June 30, 2025.
How Much Fee For ETS Inspection:
Currently, the emission testing service is being offered free of charge. However, the government plans to implement a fee structure in the near future.
Fines for ETS inspection:
After the grace period (June 30, 2025), if a vehicle is found without a green emission certificate, the owner will face fines:
- PKR 2,000 for the first offense.
- PKR 5,000 for the second offense.

The ETS covers all small four-wheelers and motorcycles, including private cars and rickshaws, as they are considered significant contributors to air pollution. Heavy transport vehicles (HTV) and Light Transport Vehicles (LTV) also undergo fitness tests which include emission inspection.
