Tragically, her father passed away when she was just three, leaving her mother, Khawar Kiani—a poet and school principal—as her guiding light and early mentor.

Continuing in Lahore, she trained under classical maestros Ustad Faiz Ahmed Khan and Wajid Ali Nashad. Academically, she earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Kinnaird College for Women University, followed by a Master’s in Psychology from Government College University, Lahore.

Hadiqa’s stellar career began in the early 1990s when she hosted the children’s music show Angan Angan Taray. Her playback debut in the 1995 film Sargam earned immediate acclaim.

Her debut album, “Raaz” (1996), was a blockbuster. Followed by Roshni, a platinum-seller featuring the iconic “Boohey Barian”—a song that remains one of Pakistan’s most beloved pop classics.
