Google Pay launches in Pakistan, How to  use google pay in Pakistan?

A good news for Pakistani consumers that Google pay is going to launch it's services in Pakistan on 12th March 2025.

The service will  allows Pakistani users to link their bank debit and credit cards to Google Wallet for contactless digital payments. Initially, the focus will be  on basic contactless payments.

The launch is facilitated through partnerships with Visa, Mastercard, and leading local banks.

This marks a significant step in Pakistan's journey towards a cashless economy.

In essence, Google Wallet, which enables Google Pay functionality, is now available in Pakistan.


How to use Google pay in Pakistan ?

As the Google Wallet is recently launched (enabling Google Pay) in Pakistan, here are the simple steps to install and activate google pay in Pakistan.

Key Steps:

  •  Download Google Wallet:

The first step is to download the Google Wallet app from the Google Play Store on your Android device.

  • Set Up Your Account:
  •  First of All  sign in with your Google account.
  •  Follow the on-screen instructions to secure your Google Wallet app.
Add Your Debit / Credit Card
  • This is the most crucial and technical part. You'll need to add your eligible debit or credit card from a participating bank.
  • Ensure that your card is a Visa or Master card, as these are the networks currently supported.
  • The app will guide you through the process of adding your card details.
Make Contactless Payments:

Once your card is added, you can use your phone to make contactless payments at participating merchants.

Look for the contactless payment symbol at the point of sale.

 Simply hold your phone near the payment terminal to complete the transaction.

Through PayFast's connection, consumers will soon be able to shop with Google Pay at well-known online merchants like Onic, Gul Ahmed, Sana Safinaz, J., and KE. Boarding cards from airlines like Thai Airways and Batik Air can also be added to Google Wallet by travelers. These features will ensure a smoother, more convenient experience at airports, with real-time notifications about departure times and gate changes.

Google Wallet’s integration with Safe pay’s platform also means that more businesses in Pakistan will soon accept secure contactless payments, expanding the reach of this revolutionary digital payment solution.
